Le Cafe Bleu is a cozy and friendly cafe located in the Grassmarket close to the Royal Mile. The interior is pleasantly eccentric with a changing gallery of art works adorning the walls and a large fish tank taking center stage. Owned and run by a pastry chef, it should come as no surprise that the sweet treats on offer here are a cut above the rest. However, you can also tuck into spicy koftas and falafel and the brunch menu is an excellent way to start your day. One of the Grassmarket’s best kept secrets is quickly evolving into one of Edinburgh’s favorite cafes. “The chocolate eclairs are widely considered to be the best to be found anywhere in the capital.”
The Little Bleu. Just off the Grassmarket, this little café has a good selection of freshly made cakes and tarts along with soup, wraps and sandwiches. Thers is also a wide range of teas and coffees and the prices are very reasonable. It’s quite compact and only really suitable for solos or couples.
